Cold Whipped Coffee

Cold Whipped Coffee, aka Dalgona Coffee.

I saw this trend making its way around social media during quarantine, and had to see if it was as delicious as it looked. Verdict is? I looooove it! But please, USE THIS TIP BELOW.

The whipped coffee is so light and fluffy it will simply sit atop your milk like a pretty cloud unless you MIX IT IN TO YOUR MILK. This will allow you to get all the tasty deliciousness of your whipped coffee and creamy milk together in every sip. Marry them. Twirl them together in a rhythmic dance. Make them have babies. You know, normal things you do to coffee before drinking it…. ;)

The method to prepare this gorgeous treat is super simple.

Put equal parts of instant coffee (instant is key), sugar, and water into a mixing bowl. Whip with a whisk (if you have all sorts of time and energy), or grab your electric mixer like my lazy butt does. You’ll know when it’s done because it will be a beautiful, light & fluffy cloud of coffee.

Grab a glass, fill it with ice, pour your favorite plant-based milk filling it about 1/2 to 3/4 full, and top with your coffee whip.

THEN DON’T FORGET TO STIR IT!!

If you taste the whip on it’s own…it will be a bit bitter…it needs to marry that milk and wa-la! Creamy coffee goodness.

Cold Whipped Coffee


Dairy free | vegan | gluten free

Serves: 2

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tbsp instant coffee

  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar (or raw sugar)

  • 2 tbsp water

  • non-dairy milk

  • ice cubes

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place instant coffee, sugar, and water in a medium bowl and beat until strong peaks appear.

  2. Add ice and non-dairy milk to a glass, filling about halfway.

  3. Top with coffee whip, and stir.

  4. Enjoy!

TIPS

Coffee whip will be pretty bitter. For best results, stir the whip into the milk before drinking! :)
