Oatmeal Cookie Protein Shake
I was elated when So Delicious contacted me about creating recipes for their "Save My Summer" campaign. I've already brought to you (and them) my Chocolate Avocado Pudding and my Strawberry Pineapple Pops!
I absolutely adore their products and use them on a daily basis. You'll always find a carton of So Delicious Dairy Free Coconut Milk in my fridge, and my husband and I have been hooked on their Dairy Free frozen treats. He loves the Vanilla Almond Milk Mini Bars and I love their No Sugar Added Coconut Milk Mint Chip Ice Cream. Just to die for, and you would have no idea they're not made from cow's milk! We've strayed from traditional milk because of all the hormones fed to the cattle. My body has enough hormones, I don't need any others messing around with it!
After trying their Almond+Plus almond milk, which is almond milk plus added protein in the form of pea and rice, I was inspired to make a vegan protein shake, Oatmeal Cookie style! Between the oats, almond milk, and chopped almonds - this shake packs 13 grams of protein without using a pre-made powder. Not too bad! It also boasts 12 grams of heart healthy fat!
Just a warning, this baby is thick! Definitely drinkable through a straw, but you could use a spoon, too! I like throwing my smoothies in those fun plastic cups with built in straws - like this one! They're perfect for a quick, on the go meal, like this Oatmeal Cookie Shake! Hello breakfast on-the-go!
